Roberta Economidis
Founding Partner
Roberta graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1995 and completed her undergraduate degree in Political, Legal & Economic Analysis at Mills College in 1992, where she had the honor of being the commencement speaker. Her areas of practice include corporate law and business law. Roberta has been actively representing businesses in a broad range of industries. She maintains a specialty niche in the hospitality industry, representing restaurants, nightclubs, brewers, and wine consultants throughout California and the United States, assisting them with corporate structure, lease negotiations, private equity offerings, licensing, and permitting issues.
Roberta began her professional career as a Deputy District Attorney at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office in California. During her five years as a prosecutor, she gained extensive criminal litigation experience, including jury and court trials on both the felony and misdemeanor levels. Ms. Economidis also lectured at the California District Attorney Association Conference and was an instructor at the Evergreen and Mountain View Police Academies.
Prior to the establishment of GE, Roberta was appointed by California State Treasurer Philip Angelides as the Executive Director of the California Educational Facilities Authority, which oversees the issuance of municipal bonds on behalf of private higher educational institutions in California. Duties included working on policy issues relating to urban renewal projects, media communication, and bond enforcement. In 2002, Roberta took a leave of absence from the Treasurer’s administration to become the National Finance Director for the Angelides Re-election Campaign. There, she focused on state and national fundraising, media relations, and community outreach.
Roberta has always been active in several community and philanthropic organizations. From 2009–2011, she was the co-chair for the Bay Area Red Cross Gala, the largest fundraiser for the Bay Area Red Cross and served on the Board of Governors for the Bay Area American Red Cross. Additionally, Roberta has been active with the San Francisco Symphony and has chaired many of their largest fundraisers. She continues to be active in philanthropy and politics in various capacities.
